The wood must be clean, dry, and sanded to remove any imperfections. If the wood is already painted, the old paint must be removed with a paint stripper or sander. Finally, apply a primer to promote paint adhesion.
For interiors, we recommend a water-based, odorless, and easy-to-clean one-part boat paint. For exteriors, a two-part marine paint resistant to weathering and UV rays is preferable.
Before painting, apply a mold-resistant impregnator to protect the wood from moisture and mold growth. Also, be sure to ventilate the room regularly to avoid condensation.
Specific paints, often two-part systems, are used for fiberglass boats to ensure adhesion and resistance to marine agents. Veneziani paints are an excellent choice for this type of application.
