Can I use a gasoline fuel valve for diesel as well?

Technically it is possible, but not recommended. Diesel-specific fuel valves are designed to withstand the higher viscosity and impurities typical of this fuel. Using a gasoline fuel valve with diesel could cause blockages and malfunctions.

How do I choose the right fuel bulkhead fitting for my hull?

Consider the thickness of the hull, the diameter of the fuel hose, and the material of the hull itself. The fuel bulkhead fitting must be long enough to ensure a watertight seal and have an internal diameter compatible with the hose. Choose a material compatible with that of the hull to avoid galvanic corrosion.

How often should I replace fuel valves and fuel bulkhead fittings?

The frequency of replacement depends on the conditions of use, the quality of the materials, and exposure to the elements. In general, it is advisable to inspect the fittings at least once a year and replace them every 5-7 years, or sooner if they show signs of wear, corrosion, leaks, or difficulty in maneuvering. Pay particular attention to gaskets and threads.

What is the difference between a 2-way and a 3-way fuel diverter valve?

A 2-way fuel diverter valve allows you to select between two fuel sources (for example, two tanks). A 3-way fuel diverter valve, on the other hand, offers greater flexibility, allowing you to connect three different sources or use a third way for fuel return.

What does the CE marking on fuel valves mean?

The CE marking indicates that the product complies with the safety, health, and environmental protection requirements of European legislation. A fuel valve with CE marking guarantees a high standard of quality and safety.
