Compatibility is key! Carefully check the original code of the part you need to replace. If it corresponds exactly to the one indicated in your engine manual, then the part is compatible. If you are unsure, provide us with the precise model of your engine (for example, E90DSLxxx) and we will be happy to confirm compatibility quickly and accurately.
One of the most common symptoms of a faulty voltage rectifier is the battery's difficulty in charging correctly or a rapid and abnormal discharge. You can perform a simple check using a multimeter: measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine off and then with the engine running. The voltage should increase significantly when the engine is running. If the voltage remains low, unstable, or even decreases, it is very likely that the voltage rectifier is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Using non-original parts can involve several risks. Often, these parts are made of lower quality materials and have a limited lifespan. Furthermore, they may not be perfectly compatible with your engine, causing operating problems, reduced performance, or, in the most serious cases, irreparable damage to the electrical system or other engine components. For your safety and the longevity of your engine, always rely on original or equivalent brand parts, tested and approved for your specific model.
It is recommended to visually check the condition of the stator motor, flywheel motor, and voltage rectifier at least once a year, preferably before the start of the boating season. More frequent checks may be useful if you use the boat intensively or in particularly harsh environmental conditions (salt water, extreme temperatures).
