3.21 €For the application of boat antifouling, we strongly recommend using short-pile microfiber paint rollers. These rollers offer a uniform and homogeneous application, minimizing the formation of unwanted splashes. Avoid using foam rollers, as they tend to absorb an excessive amount of paint, making application more difficult and less efficient.
Immediately after use, thoroughly clean the brushes with the specific thinner for the antifouling paint you used. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and let them dry completely in the open air. If the brush is particularly dirty or encrusted, you can immerse it in the thinner for a few hours to facilitate the removal of paint residue.
For cleaning the hull, it is essential to use specific nautical detergents, specially formulated to remove dirt and fouling without attacking or damaging the gelcoat. Absolutely avoid the use of abrasive products or aggressive solvents, as they can dull the surface and compromise its shine. After cleaning, apply a protective wax to keep the gelcoat shiny and protected from the elements.
The choice of brush depends on the type of paint you need to apply. For water-based paints, synthetic bristle brushes are recommended. For solvent-based paints, it is preferable to use natural or mixed bristle brushes, resistant to the action of solvents. In any case, make sure that the bristles are firmly attached to the handle to prevent them from detaching during application.
