For fishing, we recommend cooler models with a large capacity and a drain plug for easy cleaning. Igloo Marine coolers are specifically designed for this purpose, with materials resistant to saltwater and fish odors.
After each use, thoroughly clean the cooler with warm water and mild soap. To eliminate any lingering odors, you can use a solution of water and baking soda. Avoid using harsh detergents that could damage the insulating materials.
In addition to using quality ice packs and pre-chilling the cooler, try to limit opening the cooler, especially during the hottest hours. Place the cooler in a shaded area and, if possible, cover it with a cloth to protect it from direct sunlight.
