What type of boat brush do you recommend for cleaning teak decks?

For teak, we recommend boat brushes with natural or hard synthetic fiber bristles, but non-abrasive. The important thing is to clean in the direction of the wood grain and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

Can I use a pressure washer to wash the boat?

Yes, but with great care. Always use a low-pressure jet and keep the nozzle at least 30-40 cm away from the surface to avoid damaging the gelcoat or paint. Avoid pointing the jet directly at portholes, windows, and seals.

What products should I use to clean the hull without damaging the Gelcoat?

Use marine-specific detergents, preferably biodegradable, diluted according to the instructions. Avoid aggressive products such as solvents or acids, which can dull or damage the gelcoat. After washing, apply a protective wax to preserve the shine.

How do I clean my boat's water hoses?

Use specific water hose cleaning kits, consisting of flexible boat brushes and disinfectant detergents. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and rinse the hoses thoroughly after treatment. It is advisable to carry out this operation at least once a year.

What is the difference between a boat brush with microfiber bristles and one with natural bristles?

Boat brushes with microfiber bristles are ideal for delicate surfaces such as gelcoat, as they do not scratch and effectively remove dirt. Boat brushes with natural bristles are more suitable for resistant surfaces such as teak, as they offer greater cleaning power.

How can I prevent algae from forming in the water hoses?

Regularly use a specific disinfectant for drinking water hoses. Also, be sure to completely empty the hoses during periods of non-use and protect them from direct sunlight.

How often should I replace the boat cleaning brush?

The frequency of replacement depends on the use and quality of the boat brush. In general, it is advisable to replace the boat brush when the bristles are worn or damaged, or when it no longer cleans effectively.
